Assessments, commonly referred to as "testing" is a major part of the learning process to evaluate the student's knowledge of the content. Assessments are also valuable tools in gathering data to see how the class has performed overall and how effective my instruction and guidance was I being able to reach all of my learners.
There are several ways to assess a student's learning; Test with multiple choice, True and False, Fill-In the Blanks, and Essays. Even with the different types of sections on the test, data can be easily gained regarding what points were clear, and which one's were muddy to individuals and to the group overall. I will assess learning through administering weekly quizzes that cover chapter content. The quizzes will consist of matching, multiple choice, and fill ins. For example: Matching would ask to match each word part to its definition. 1. cardi/o ___ skin 2. integument/o ------- heart Multiple choice would ask to select the correct word from the choices given. 1. Hematology is the study of the a) brain b) blood c) muscle Fill Ins would ask to divide medical terms into their component parts. 1. endocrinology Prefix endo - Combining Form crin/o Suffix -logy |
